Extension of a House
Architectural Project
Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro – Brasil

Architecture: Venta Arquitetos + Mariana Meneguetti

The extension is built through an imprecise boundary. The elements summoned in this work - a ceiling and a wall like translucent skin, are rather surfaces that allow the water to move, which in curve, come together as a succession of gutters: a cycle.
The floor, nailed with river pebbles and objects such as crystals and personal pendants, adheres to the soil the memory of an intimate landscape.
The dividing surface between public and private, intimate and exposed, is both protection and support for the street through the translucency of matter and memory.
